Boswellia serrata extract is a yellow-white powdery fluid extract of the resin of the Oleaceae plant Boswellia carlesii. It contains 60-70% resin, 27-35% gum, and 3-8% volatile oil. It is used to treat stagnation of qi and blood, heart and stomach pain, carbuncle, swelling, trauma, dysmenorrhea, and postpartum blood stasis and pain.
